Thermal Barrier Coatings are often used in process facilities such as refineries, oil and gas, and petrochemical plants. One of the main uses of thermal barrier coatings in these facilities is for the protection of pipe systems that regularly transport various materials at high heat.
In order to increase efficiency, reduce heat loss and capitalize on energy savings, these hot pipes are usually covered with a layer of insulation. This insulation is also sometimes put in place to protect personnel from being burned by these pipes.
ZS-211 Thermal Reflective Insulation Coating is a water-based heat insulating coating designed to insulate in relative low temperature situations (<150℃) . Use ZS-211 as a base coat/primer or build layers for additional protection.
The solid content of ZS-211 surpasses 85%. After solidification, its density is only 0.46g/ml. This coating has following features : thin layer, heat insulation, good decoration, waterproof, mildew-proof, anti-corrosion, high efficiency and energy saving.
Features
1) Moisture resistance: This coating can effectively prevent moisture condensation, isolating water vapor, keeping dry and avoiding erosion by vapour.
2) Adhesion: This coating can be 100% attached to surfaces of objects.
3) Tensile Strength and Elasticity:The coating can withstand the expansion and shrinkage of objects, which is caused by frequent temperature changes.
4) Safe: No peculiar odor. No harmful VOC substance, carcinogen,by-products or any other harmful polymers.
The coating is composed of modified solution, hollow glass nano-beads, thermal reflective materials, ceramic fiber and other materials. The screen mesh number of the selected glass beads is more than 80 mesh while the wall of the nano-bead is even and sealed well. The air inside such nano-beads no longer generates thermal convection after being heated. After being coated with this coating, the surface is covered by a three-dimensional network with hollow structure. Therefore, stacked static air groups,thermal insulation units, are formed among nano-beads. These static units hardly generate any thermal convection after being heated. So there is little thermal conduction. Supported by pure inorganic materials, the static air forms a thermal barrier. Supported by thermal reflective materials, the thermal conductivity coefficient of the coating is close to that of vacuum. The thermal conductivity coefficient is enough low to induce good effect of thermal insulation. The thermal conductivity of coating is 0.033W/m.K, which can effectively prevent thermal conduction. The insulation level of the coating is R-27, which can effectively prevent the thermal energy exchange. Being coated on inner and outer surfaces of the objects, the thermal insulation efficiency can reach 90%.

1) If the surface at 100℃ is coated with this coating in the thickness of 2 mm, the temperature can go down to about 75℃.
2) When this coating functions as thermal insulation, it can also cover small cracks on the object and has a good effect of waterproofing and anti-leakage.
3) If this coating is coated on metal surfaces, the coating can prevent metal surfaces from contacting with air or water while it functions as thermal barrier.This can prevent corrosion and prolong service life of metals.
4) If the coating is coated on the objects in the surrounding of easy condensation, it can prevent the generation of condensed water. At the same time, it has a multi-function of thermal barrier, waterproofing, mildew-proofing. Besides, it can be scrubbed.
5) If the coating is coated on outdoor equipment, it can function as thermal insulation, waterproofing, sunproofing, and reduce the operating temperature of the equipment.
6) For the surfaces of objects at high-temperature, thermal insulation treatment should be done according to different conditions. Multi-coatings of ZS-211 and other thermal barrier coatings can be used in different conditions.
7) The caoting is water-based and inorganic. No pollutant is generated, nor is VOC.
